PARIS — The Mollyockett Chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold its first general membership/public meeting starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at the 1st Congregational Church at 17 East Main St.
The guest speaker is Rick Little of Shadcreek Flies. His program it titled, Bugs and Smelt — Favorite Flies and Streamside Musings.
“The program will focus on 24 of his favorite flies and is designed to stimulate a discussion about your favorite flies and get people thinking about the flies you use and why,” Lee Margolin of the chapter said Monday in a news release.
“It is a fun, light-hearted program that includes photos of flies, fishing locations and some conversation about the flies we use and why.”
Margolin said Little will share his favorite freshwater patterns and some of the experiences and streamside observations that have contributed to making these flies his “go-to” patterns.
“This will be an interesting and fun evening that will get you thinking about your favorites and generate a starting point for your winter fly tying,” he said.
Chapter members are strongly encouraged to attend the meeting. There will also be a raffle of a box of flies, fly tying materials and a fly tying book.
The church is just off Market Square on Routes 117/119 on the right, 200 yards from the intersection with Route 26. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for Little’s 7 p.m. presentation. Refreshments will be served.
In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be held Thursday, Jan. 30. For more information, contact Margolin at 743-9808 or visit the chapter’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mollyockett.tu.
