LEWISTON — The Great Falls Forum will feature Victoria Wyeth, Bates College alumna and granddaughter of Andrew Wyeth, Friday, Jan. 17.
Her illustrated talk titled “An Insider’s View of Andrew Wyeth” will be from noon to 1 p.m. in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library.
Wyeth, the only grandchild of iconic American artist Andrew Wyeth, has been presenting gallery talks and lectures about her grandfather’s work for the past 20 years. Her presentations, which include many personal memories and family stories, have been lauded for their candidness and intimacy.
Wyeth is also highly regarded for the two Wyeth exhibitions which she curated for the Bates College Museum of Art: Andrew Wyeth: Her Room in 2001; and Andrew and Jamie Wyeth: Selections from the Private Collection of Victoria Browning Wyeth, in 2011.
Victoria, a gifted photographer, will be illustrating her talk with intimate family photos along with images of Wyeth art from her personal collection. A question and answer session will follow her presentation.
Admission is free to all Forum events and no reservations are required. Bring a brown-bag lunch; coffee, tea and bottled water will be available at the library.
The Great Falls Forum is co-sponsored by Bates College, Lewiston Public Library and the Sun Journal.
The library is at 200 Lisbon St. at the corner of Pine Street.
