PARIS — Selectmen have cancelled Monday’s public hearing on the town’s proposed land use management ordinance due to inclement weather and icy roads.

The hearing was scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Paris Fire Station on Western Avenue. According to Town Clerk Elizabeth Knox, no alternate date has been discussed and the hearing may be pushed off until March.

The proposed ordinance would divide the town into six different districts with varying levels of restrictions on new building and development. A committee appointed by the select board spent nearly three years drawing up the proposal.

Selectmen plan to hold at least two hearings on the ordinance before its goes to voters in June.
