I offer a thank-you to the people of Auburn Public Works, specifically plow truck drivers who kept Auburn roads passable during the “ice event” recently.

On Sunday, Dec. 22, we celebrated our family Christmas with our children and grandchildren who traveled from Poland, New Gloucester and other parts of Auburn. They all commented on how well the roads had been pre-treated and kept well-sanded (salted) all weekend.

We were lucky to have not lost power during that time and had a wonderful celebration.

I also send a thank-you to the families of the plow truck drivers who lost quality time with their families to keep the rest of us safe on the road.

Auburn tax dollars well spent.

Claire Morris, Auburn
