RUMFORD — A group of fitness center people at the Greater Rumford Community Center are seeking others of all ages for a Christmas caroling event in the community starting at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22.

A practice for the event will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at the GRCC.

“Join us at the GRCC for some practice and fun learning some Christmas songs,” Kristi Gordon, a GRCC member from Rumford said on a flier advertising the event.

The event was scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 21, but Gordon said late Thursday evening at the GRCC that it was rescheduled to Sunday.

She said she enjoys caroling and wanted to try and bring people together to bring some Christmas cheer to Rumford.

“This is my first year here and I really wanted to put it together,” Gordon said.

Participants in Sunday’s event are asked to “bring warm clothes, a thermos of hot chocolate, your singing voices, dancing feet and maybe even a candle or flashlight,” she said.

“Help provide some joy, music and Christmas cheer to the Rumford community.”
