WILTON — RSU 9 Superintendent Thomas Ward will meet with the Board of Selectmen at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at the Town Office.
Ward is expected to update the board on what needs to be done to get the full share of the state’s Essential Programs and Services education funding.
A state law enacted in May requires towns to raise 100 percent of the local required allocation to get the full state subsidy under the funding formula.
It is estimated the 10 towns of RSU 9 will need to raise $664,473 over three years or risk losing $1.2 million in state subsidy, Ward previously told Farmington selectmen.
Ward previously proposed raising about $200,000 extra each year so the district could get the maximum benefit. Ward plans to meet with officials in the 10 towns to explain how the law affects the district and what needs to be done.
In other business, the board will hear police and fire department quarterly reports, consider approving a company for banking services and open bids for cemetery mowing services.
