After Friday night’s game, Portland Pirates head coach Ray Edwards wanted a better start from his team on Saturday.

He didn’t get it.

But what he did get was a superb, come-from-behind effort that ultimately resulted in a pair of points on the road.

Andy Miele, Brandon Yip and Ethan Werek all scored for Portland in the shootout as the Pirates earned a 4-3 victory.

The Norfolk Admirals opened the game with three goals in the first eight minutes.

Chris Wagner opened the scoring 32 seconds in to the game with Steven Whitney and Alex Grant picking up the assists. Charles Sarault notched the second goal the 2:18 mark. Those were the only two shots Mike Lee saw all night for the Pirates as he was lifted for Mark Visentin, who ended up making 13 saves on 14 shots in relief.
