Community worship event

AUBURN — The public is invited to a community worship event at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at Sixth Street Congregational Church, 109 Sixth St.

Pastor John Robbins, director of Hope Haven, will speak of his success at Hope Haven over the past two years. Hope Haven Gospel Mission feeds, clothes, houses, and emotionally and spiritually supports the most vulnerable in the community.

There will be special guitar music and a reception to follow.

Ecumenical Thanksgiving

BOWDOIN — An all-faiths Thanksgiving service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at the West Bowdoin Baptist Church, 54 West Road.

Nonperishable foods will be accepted. There will also be a free will offering to benefit Lisbon Area Christian Outreach Food Pantry. Light refreshments will follow the service.

Calvary to host guest speaker

LEWISTON — Shanna Rogers, Lewiston Auburn community developer for Community Concepts, will be the guest speaker at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 59 Sabattus St.

She will bring ideas about “values of vibrant communities and connected community.”

The worship theme will center around counting our blessings, the blessings we have and the blessings we can give.

Child care is available during the service.

Guest speaker’s topic, ‘Awareness’

PARIS — The First Universalist Church on Pine Street will feature Silver Moore-Leamon on Sunday, Nov. 24, as the guest speaker. The sermon title for the 10 a.m. worship service is “Awareness.”

Music is under the direction of Donna Hurd and Sunday School is under the direction of Renee Wales.

Good conversation, coffee and fun will follow the Sunday sermon. All are welcome and childcare is available. The First Universalist Church is wheelchair accessible.
