AUBURN — City public works crews are warning drivers they’ll be moving the city’s Christmas tree into place at Festival Plaza on Thursday.

This year’s tree was donated by Brenda Farrar.

Crews will cut it down at its Fletcher Road location and begin moving it to Merrow Road, to Hotel Road and up through Poland Road. It will continue down Minot Avenue, through the rotary to Court Street, then down to Mechanics Row where it will be put into place and decorated.

It’s being set in place for the Twin Cities’ holiday celebration and parade on Dec. 4.

Lewiston officials said they’ll decorate the live tree in Kennedy Park for the Christmas holiday this year.

Lewiston’s end of the holiday celebration has been moved from Dufresne Plaza on Lisbon Street to Kennedy Park due to construction near the plaza.
