FARMINGTON — The RSU 9 School District will reopen the search for a new administrative assistant to the superintendent and the director of curriculum/assistant superintendent.

The finalist for the position withdrew Tuesday, Superintendent Tom Ward said Wednesday.

There were five applicants for the position. Former administrative assistant Dan Gazette retired in October.

Previous applicants are welcome to reapply, he said.

After an executive session Tuesday night, the board accepted the Contract Resolution Committee’s recommendation to raise the pay for Beth Christopher, the finance manager and office coordinator at the Mt. Blue High School campus.

Christopher has taken on more duties, including managing finances for both the high school and Foster Career and Technical Education Center at the campus. She is also the administrative assistant to high school Principal Monique Poulin and Foster Director Glenn Kapiloff.

The board raised Christopher’s hourly wage from $13.46 to $13.70 through June 30, Ward said.

The position is year-round.
