‘Music For a Sunday Afternoon’
PARIS — The second annual “Music For a Sunday Afternoon” concert will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at the First Universalist Church on Pine Street.
There will be selections played on the 101-year-old classic Moller pipe organ and ends with a singalong and an “Organ Blaster” piece by Donna Hurd guaranteed to excite the ears.
Other performances will include Renee Wales, flute; Christopher and Anita White, guitar and vocal; Silver Moore-Leamon, recorder; Berdina Whittemore, vocal; Alan deSilva, guitar and vocal; and Sharon Bouchard with a selection from “The Way I See It.”
Refreshments will be served in Good Cheer Hall downstairs after the 60- to 90-minute concert. There is no charge, but donations will be accepted at the door. The First Universalist Church is wheelchair accessible.
West Paris food pantry
WEST PARIS — The Neighborhood Niche Food Pantry will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at West Paris Baptist Church, 15 Church St.
The pantry is open the first and third Tuesday of each month. West Paris residents are invited to come once a month.
Spurrs Corner food pantry hours
OTISFIELD — The food pantry at Spurrs Corner Church, Route 121, will be open Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The pantry is open to residents of Otisfield on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. For information call 583-4780 or 627-4329.

OXFORD — Oxford Duplicate Bridge Club met Nov. 8 for an eight-table Mitchell movement.

Finishing third in flight C were Eleanor Wigton and Lindy Wigton of Lewiston.

VFW dance is Nov. 23
HARRISON — The Ronald St. John VFW Post, 176 Waterford Road, will have a BYOB dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Nov. 23.

Benefit supper for Albert Silver
GREENWOOD — A benefit supper for Albert H. Silver of Patch Mountain Road will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at Jackson-Silver Post 68, 595 Gore Road.
Cost is $8 per adult; $6 per child; 10 and under free. Funds will help support Albert and his family through his recent illness.
Donations can be made at any Norway Savings Bank location for the Benefit of Albert Silver.
There also will be a Chinese auction.
Legion to hold craft fair Nov. 24
OXFORD — The Anderson-Staples American Legion Post 112, 169 King St., will hold a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24.

Turkey Day 5K walk/run Nov. 28
HARRISON — The second annual Turkey Day 5K walk/run will be held Thursday, Nov. 28. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. the day of the race. Preregistration forms may be found at the Harrison and Bridgton town halls and libraries, the Village Tie Up, Main Street Graphics and Main Street Variety, online at www.runinarace.com, or by contacting Barb Stauble at 583-4445.
A $25 registration fee will be collected and donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, which provides care to critically ill children regardless of their ability to pay.
The race will start and end at the Greenwood Manor Inn on Tolman Road. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in seven age categories and goodies for all.
