ROXBURY — The Maine Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Town Office to discuss culvert work on Route 120.

“We’ve been complaining about this culvert for awhile now,” Selectman Michael Worthley said Tuesday “Beavers have built dams at the culvert before. Every time we have rain, the culvert gets plugged up and floods.

“It’s a major road with big trucks constantly going over it,” he said. “All the bonds got approved for the road work, and the money is there. This will just be an informational meeting for MDOT to talk to residents about their options.”

There are several options the state will look, Worthley said, including using a box culvert instead of a standard culvert, building a bridge, or building up the road and installing guardrails.

An official start date has not been scheduled, he said.

“We know that it may happen sometime next summer,” Worthley said. “I’m not quite sure exactly when they’ll start, but the money is there when they’re ready.”
