College planning workshop Nov. 14

WILTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will hold a free workshop, “Essentials of College Planning,” for adults 19 and over at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Wilton Career Center, 865 US Route 2E.

The starting point for all MEOC participants is The Essentials of College Planning, a free interactive workshop that outlines the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career planning and study skills.

The workshop lasts approximately two to three hours. Pre-registration is required.

All MEOC services are free. They include GED/SAT preparation, college planning, referrals/advocacy, career advising, financial aid advising, college admissions process and applications for fee waivers for qualified adults.

Hunters’ breakfast Nov. 16

Arts and Crafts Assoc. meeting

FARMINGTON — The third and final fall meeting of the Franklin County Arts and Crafts Association will be held Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the University of Maine at Farmington North Dining Hall.

Registrations for the annual Christmas craft fair on Dec. 7 will be taken beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by a business session at 7.

Healthy Thanksgiving meal

FARMINGTON — The Healthy Dinners are a tradition for the University of Maine at Farmington Health Club. The health club on campus hosts a Thanksgiving-style meal with healthier cooking, recipes and ingredients. The dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, in the North Dining Hall in the UMF Olsen Student Center on South Street.

The meal features homemade recipes. The menu includes salad, squash, green beans, mashed potatoes, carrots, chicken, ham, stuffing and gravy, and dessert. The meal is prepared, cooked and served by the UMF Health Club. The meal cost is donation based.

Homemakers meet Nov. 21

CHESTERVILLE — The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, in the Chesterville Town Office.

The topic of the meeting will be to plan the Free Chesterville Christmas Party, decide on the group’s yearly donations to charities and to evaluate the hugely successful Halloween party.
