Knights plan blood drive
LEWISTON — Knights of Columbus Rev. Louis J. Fortier Council 106 will sponsor an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Holy Family Church Hall, 607 Sabattus St. Entrance to the hall is in the back of the church and there is plenty of parking.
The goal is to collect 26 pints of blood that day to help the Red Cross.

Holiday festival at St. Dom’s
AUBURN — A holiday festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Saint Dominic Academy Junior/Senior High School Campus, Gracelawn Road.
There will be two large raffle areas for adults and kids, more than 60 crafters and vendors, food and refreshments, Santa, baked goods, 50/50 raffle, games, face painting and a bounce house.
Burnt Meadow DAR meets Nov. 9
BOWDOIN — Burnt Meadow Chapter, National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at the home of Mrs. J. Coombs at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
Coombs will present a program after the business meeting.
The Maine Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution held their fall meeting on Nov. 1-2, at the Senator Inn in Augusta. The regent will have a brief report and will be distributing information to the committee chairmen.
Burnt Meadow’s next meeting is Dec. 14.
Bean, casserole supper is Nov. 9
LEWISTON — A bean and casserole supper will be held from 4:45 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 59 Sabattus St. Use the Bartlett Street entrance.
Menu will include casseroles, salads, beans, hot biscuits and homemade pies. Cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children.
St. Ann Sodality sets Noel Gala
LEWISTON — The St. Ann Sodality of Holy Family Parish will have a Noel Gala from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Parish Hall, 607 Sabattus St.
There will be vendors and crafters on hand. Christmas wreath and garland orders will benefit the Waterville YMCA/Decal Gymnastics.

Exchange Club Field of Honor
LEWISTON — The Auburn Exchange Club’s Field of Honor will take place Tuesday, Nov. 12, with a noon luncheon honoring all veterans (both recently returning and otherwise) at the Green Ladle at Lewiston High School.
Featured speaker is Lt. Michael Chinn, commander of the Navy Operational Support Center in Bangor.
A staff member of the Lewiston Vet Center will be on hand to answer questions about veterans’ services.

PARIS — The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club will hold its next Saturday night dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 9, at the Oxford Hills Middle School, 100 Pine St.

TURNER — Leavitt Area High School will hold its 37th annual craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
More than 100 crafters will participate.
The Performing Arts will provide food for lunch and snacks.
All proceeds will benefit Leavitt activities.

Legion brunch for veterans
AUBURN — American Legion Post 31 will be hold a “free” brunch to honor all veterans and their immediate families from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at the post home, 426 Washington St. North.
The menu will consist of eggs, sausage, ham, quiche, fruit, breakfast casseroles, fruit breads, coffee and juice.
Lakeside OES meets Nov. 12
WALES — Lakeside Chapter No. 60, O.E.S, will meet Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Grange/Masonic Hall, 322 Centre Road.
Lakeside will be “Celebrating Thanksgiving” by bringing in nonperishable food and alternative supplies for the Food Bank. This follows the successful Tea Party held last month that welcomed the community in for a visit.
The Landmarks of the Order will be read and members will renew their Obligation. The associate conductress will given her lecture, and the secretary will read the Grand Chapter Charity Folder.
Veterans will be honored for their service with a program. After the meeting, light refreshments provided by Rachel, Betty and Clarinda will be enjoyed.
Ladies are asked to wear colored gowns, men tuxes or dark suits.
Workshop on college admissions
LISBON — The Lisbon Adult and Community Education Center at 19 Gartley St. will host a free workshop on college admissions from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13,
Wendy Thompson from Westport Educational Consulting, Westport Island, will present “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About College Admissions.” Parents of high school students will learn how to help their son or daughter navigate the sometimes complex process of applying to college.
The fun, interesting and interactive session will give an inside look at the college admissions process from the perspective of a former Bowdoin College admissions staff member.
