WATERVILLE (AP) — A Maine inmate is facing new felony drug charges after police say he coordinated drug trafficking in Waterville from jail.
Three other people also have been arrested.
Thirty-one-year-old Mark Hilliard, of Bronx, N.Y., was charged Friday with illegal importation and conspiracy and aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs.
Based on a tip, police say they also arrested 24-year-old Sammiya Butts, of Bronx, N.Y., after she arrived in Waterville by bus and travelled to a Wal-Mart parking lot by car. Police say they seized 70 packages of crack cocaine worth about $5,000. Also arrested were 35-year-old Timothy Hogan and 20-year-old Elizabeth O’Neil of Waterville. The Morning Sentinel reports the four are scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 10. It was not immediately known if they were being represented by lawyers.
