I am writing to clarify the comments attributed to me (Sun Journal, Oct. 25) about the number of assistant principals at Edward Little.
Rather than saying that “times have changed,” I specifically stated that my high school graduating class numbered more than 400 graduates. We had one principal plus one assistant principal, and that was long before the advent of computers, which must inevitably lessen the administrative burden required of the assistant principals.
This year, EL graduated less than 210 students; thus, my contention that one assistant principal for each class is not required, and that the Auburn School Department is administratively top heavy.
