HARRISON — Police have arrested a man they say is responsible for a bank robbery in Harrison.

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Capt. Don Goulet says in a release Thursday that 35-year-old Moss McCole has been arrested in connection with the robbery of the Northeast Bank branch at about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

McCole is being held at the county jail. McCole was described by police as a homeless man from Portland. It was not known if he had a lawyer.

Investigators say the robbery suspect did not show or threaten to have a weapon, but assaulted a customer, who was not injured.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, but employees were able to give police a detailed description of the robber, including a license plate number.
