UNITY TOWNSHIP (AP) — Police said a 59-year-old woman has been killed in a head-on crash in Unity Township.

A car driven by the woman collided with a pickup truck on Route 139 at about 2:30 p.m. Monday. The truck rolled over and both vehicles ended up in woods.

Two passengers in the woman’s car as well as the pickup truck’s driver were taken to the hospital, but their injuries were not considered life threatening. Both vehicles were totaled.

Sgt. Frank Hatch told the Morning Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1enCK5c ) that no names are being released pending notification of family, but the victims lived locally.

The crash remains under investigation but Hatch said the driver of the pickup may have been distracted by a dog in his cab, causing him to cross the centerline.
