WELLS (AP) — Five people were rescued from the water at the entrance to Wells Harbor after their fishing boat capsized.

The boaters were pulled from the waves Sunday afternoon by the Wells assistant harbor master, who also towed the fishing vessel to shore.

The Wells Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene just after 1:30 p.m. and evaluated the five passengers.

Fire Capt. Jeff Cullen told the Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/1aE0YW6 ) that none of the passengers required serious medical attention. The incident was witnessed by tourists and surfers, who were first to call for help.

No names were immediately released.
