WINDHAM — The Triple B: Boots, Band and BBQ, will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at 14 Lilac Drive.

The event is a fundraiser for Riding To The Top Therapeutic Riding Center. This year the annual event will feature a celebration of RTT’s 20 years of service to the community.

The party will include DennyMike’s mouthwatering barbecue, contests and western photo booth. Live music and dancing are courtesy of local favorite Bonnie Edwards and the Practical Cats.

The event’s purpose is raising funds to support the clients, horses and programs of RTT. A unique mission-based auction means that every bidder is a winner. Dress is barn casual.

Now in its sixth year, the Triple B has raised more than $400,000 dollars and has allowed hundreds of people with disabilities to benefit from the healing power of horses at RTT.

Tickets are $50 per person and include dinner, dancing, door prizes and contests. To reserve tickets, or to place an ad in the event program, call 892-2813, ext. 10.

The center is on a 50-acre farm and is the state’s only year-round program solely dedicated to therapeutic riding. More than 250 clients visit annually and are assisted by horses, certified instructors and more than 60 volunteers, all specially trained to assist with therapeutic riding and hippotherapy. Riding To The Top is a community based nonprofit, receives no federal or state funding and provides scholarships to over 60 percent of its clients.
