“It’s going to be a busy day and a busy night,” said Roger Breton, right, as he and Don Lamontagne moved hockey lockers at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Tuesday morning. Projects have been going on non-stop ever since the Portland Pirates announced that they will play their 2013-2014 season in Lewiston rather than Portland, Breton said. A new dropped ceiling in the locker room will save on heating costs and new big screen televisions are being installed in hallways, locker rooms and coach offices. The Lewiston High School locker room as been moved across the ice and red, black and white paint will let the Pirates know this is now their home, said Breton. The Portland Pirates face off against Manchester tonight at 7 p.m. for their season opener.
Portland Pirate Brandon Yip’s locker is ready for when he takes the ice on Wednesday.
