Coalition offers flu shots
FARMINGTON — Starting Oct. 11, Healthy Community Coalition staff will be available to administer the influenza vaccine (flu shot) at the following sites.
Friday, Oct. 11, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Rangeley IGA.
Tuesday, Oct. 15, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Otis Federal Credit Union, Jay.
Thursday, Oct. 17, 4 to 6 p.m., Wilton Public Library.
Friday, Oct. 18, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Edmunds Market, Phillips.
Friday, Oct. 18, 3:30 to 5 p.m., The White Elephant, Strong.
Thursday, Oct. 24, 10 a.m. to noon, Weld Town Office.
Thursday, Oct. 24, 1 to 3 p.m. Carthage Town Office.
Friday, Oct. 25, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Eustis/Stratton Town Office.
Due to the cost of the vaccine, there is a suggested donation of $25 at Healthy Community Coalition clinics (or by donating what you can afford). Insurance, Medicare or Medicaid can not be accepted. HCC purchases all vaccine used and appreciates donations to help cover costs.
Flu shots will be provided to individuals 18 and older. Those who are under the age of 18 are advised to contact their primary care medical provider.

White elephant, rummage sale
DIXFIELD — Mystic Valley Grange No. 313 will have its last Rummage and White Elephant sale of the year from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at 932 U.S. Route 2 West.
There are new items and great sales. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information call 645-2423.
Ditzler Library plans book sale
NEW SHARON — A book sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Jim Ditzler Memorial Library, 37 Library Road.
Fiction, nonfiction, mysteries, romance, novels and children’s books will be available.

Genealogical Society meeting
STRONG — The Sandy River Valley Chapter, Maine Genealogical Society, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Strong Historical Society house.
Carl Stinchfield will tell the group about the Historical Society, provide a tour for those interested and explain the research sources that are available.
