People who call Lewiston Mayor Bob Macdonald and Maine Gov. Paul LePage “bullies” have no idea what they are talking about. People may say that Macdonald is a bully, but he supports senior citizens and disabled veterans. He is a veteran himself.

Macdonald is correct that a new, four-story, 13-unit housing project for those qualifying for Section 8 funds would hurt local landlords. City councilors who approved the project are wrong. It is not a good idea.

I see buildings destroyed by slumlords and deadbeat tenants on welfare. Lewiston looks like a hellhole because of people coming in from other states who don’t care about this city.

I agree with Macdonald to keep outside developers with deep pockets out of Lewiston.
