SCARBOROUGH (AP) — Police said a 72-year-old South Portland man has died in a fiery single-vehicle crash in Scarborough.
Police said the car crashed into a tree and burst into flames shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday on Route 77.
A passing motorist extinguished the fire.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released.
Police do not think speed was a factor and they found no suspicious circumstances.
