LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on Sept. 16 were as follows: first, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; second, Patricia Quinn and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Les Buzzell and Paul Sherman; fourth, Richard Balian and Jim Krainin; first in B, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; second, Richard Balian and Jim Krainin; third, Ellie and George Wigton; first in C, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; second, Ellie and George Wigton.
Winners on Sept. 17 were: N/S, first, Jan and Vern Arey; second, Jeanine Kivus and Fred Letourneau; third, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; first in B, Connie and Ron Reynolds; E/W, first, Paul Sherman and Mike True; second, Marta Clements and Hazel Glazier; third/first in B, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe.
Games are played every Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Seniors Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed and all bridge players are welcomed. Call Rosemarie at 754-1431 for more information.
Scholarship fundraiser
SUMNER — As a Sumner Scholarship fundraiser, a roast pork dinner will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at West Sumner Universalist Church Vestry.
Menu will include beans, salad, rolls, desserts and beverage.
Auction, yard sale on Sept. 28
LOCKE MILLS — An auction and yard sale will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, for the Locke Mills Union Church.
A preview will take place at 9 a.m at the home of Steve Seames, 14 West Bethel Road on Route 2.
Dave Murphy will be the auctioneer.
Uptown Cruizahs Car Club cruise-in
OXFORD — The Uptown Cruizahs Car Club will be at Tractor Supply, Route 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, for their end-of-season cruise-in.
DJ “Red Wing” will be on hand playing tunes of the past and present. Club members will be busy throughout the day providing fantastic food at a reasonable prices.
The will be a 50/50 and door prizes.
Folks will be displaying their antique, classic or customized vehicles.
As with the Monday night cruise nights, this event will be held weather permitting. Proceeds will benefit local charities. For more information call Les Wing at 890-0870.
