LEWISTON — Androscoggin Bank recently awarded four grants from the bank’s MainStreet Foundation to four area agencies totalling $14,000 that will benefit Maine youth.
The grants went to Tree Street Youth Center, Advocates for Children and The Root Cellar, all of Lewiston and the Oxford Hills School District (Roberts Farm).
For the Tree Street Youth Center, a $5,000 grant will provide financial assistance to implement Ace It! Tutoring, a summer youth program.
For Advocates for Children, a $3,000 grant will support the expansion of the Parents Resource Center there, including interactive play groups for parents and children.
For The Root Cellar, a $3,000 grant will support the after-school enrichment program of The Root Cellar, an interdenominational collaborative outreach.
And for the Oxford Hills School District (Roberts Farm), a $3,000 grant will support the youth leadership and employment program at Roberts Farm. Roberts Farm promotes an understanding of science, health and sustainable agriculture among youth in the community while working to alleviate food security issues in Oxford Hills.
Androscoggin Bank’s MainStreet Foundation grants are provided to support the projects, programs and initiatives of groups that foster the development and welfare of young people. Grants are typically announced four times a year.
