PITTSTON — The body of a young man who is likely from central Maine was pulled from the Kennebec River on Saturday afternoon, according to Department of Public Safety Spokesman Stephen McCausland.
An autopsy was performed by the State Medical Examiner’s Office on Sunday revealed no signs of foul play, according to McCausland.
The body was found by residents off from the Smithtown Road in Pittston.
“A missing person report was filed by the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 11 on the man, who was in his twenties and last seen in Waterville,” said McCausland.
The family of the man will be notified before the man’s identity will be released, he said.
