BETHEL — The SAD 44 board settled three-year contracts with two bargaining units in the Telstar Education Association during a meeting Monday.

Superintendent David Murphy said the contract, which expired Aug. 31, provides a 1.5 percent salary increase for each of the three years for the district’s approximately 80 teachers.

The 18 members of the educational technician/secretaries bargaining unit received raises of 37 cents per hour during the first year of the contract, 39 cents per hour during school year 2014-15 and 40 cents per hour for school year 2015-16.

In other matters, Murphy said the board will meet in a special session at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 30 to possibly act on an agreement with the Andover Withdrawal Committee. He said about 90 percent of the document has been agreed to by the district and the withdrawal committee. Remaining are issues that include busing.
