WATERFORD — OCEA-R, Oxford County Education Association-Retired, will have their first fall meeting on Friday, Sept. 20, at the North Waterford Congregational Church.

From 10:30 to 11 a.m. there is an opportunity to sign in and socialize. The business meeting will be held at 11, lunch will be served at noon and the program will begin at approximately 12:45. This month’s program will be on Maine humor. The fundraiser is a yard sale.

If you are a retired teacher or someone who worked for a school in any capacity, such as a custodian, bus driver or cafeteria worker, consider attending for a good time, a good meal and the chance to discuss matters important to retired educators. The group believes that anyone who worked with young people in a school setting is part of the education community.

Those planning to attend are asked to call 743-7677 to reserve lunch. This is to help the cooks know how much food to prepare. If you do not call, you will still be welcome.
