SACO (AP) — A southern Maine library says it’s received a $50,000 grant from the charitable foundation set up by best-selling author Stephen King and his wife to partially cover the cost of a new roof.
Dyer Library in Saco said it’s housed in a brick mansion that was built in 1869, and that its slate roof that was installed when the house was built is in serious need of replacement.
Library officials said they’re seeking other donations to raise the funds that are needed beyond the grant money from the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation.
