“It’s raining on our parade, but it hasn’t dampened our spirits,” said Gary McGrane, right, president of the Local United Steel Workers Union No. 14 and treasurer of the Western Maine Labor Commission, during the second annual Labor Day barbecue in Jay on Monday. “We’re doing really well with our turnout and our help,” McGrane said. The weather cut the attendance in half, he said, but around 20 people showed up.
