AUBURN —  Girl Scouts of Maine is collaborating with the Grand Lodge of Maine and Healthy Androscoggin to present a Girl Scout Kick-Off Rally and Informational Community Day.

Girls, families and community members are invited to attend All Out for Girl Scouts from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the United Methodist Church of Auburn, 439 Park Ave.

Girls will have an opportunity to sample fitness, safety, educational and hands-on activities with adult Girl Scout volunteers and representatives from River Valley Healthy Communities and the Grand Lodge of Maine.

Families attending will learn about the different ways today’s girls are participating in Girl Scouting and how the programs and activities inspire them to reach their personal best. At the Girl Scout registration table, adults can find out about the flexible options and benefits of becoming a Girl Scout volunteer.

Healthy Androscoggin will host an interactive and informational table promoting nutrition and physical activity, while the Grand Lodge of Maine will offer CHIP – The Child Identification Program, and participating parents will leave with a videotape and fingerprints of their child (girls and/or boys). CHIP is being provided free to any families who would like to take advantage of this service.
