LEWISTON — Kevin Lewis, CEO of Maine Community Health Options, recently announced that Robert Guerette, previously an outreach and education specialist at MCHO, has accepted a new position as benefits consultant.

Guerette joined MCHO this year and has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry as a producer and agency owner.

In his new role, Guerette will collaborate with insurance brokers and small businesses. He will be responsible for providing answers to questions regarding the requirements of the Affordable Care Act. He will serve as a resource for individuals and small businesses, and he will distribute information on premium tax credits afforded to qualifying businesses.

MCHO is a nonprofit organization that will provide affordable health insurance to Maine people and small businesses beginning in January 2014. The enrollment start date for the plan is Oct. 1.
