NEW VINEYARD — A New Portland man was charged late Saturday evening after his pickup truck hit a utility pole on Route 27 near Maine Wood Turning Inc.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy Sandy Burke issued Walker Fleming, 33, a summons charging operating under the influence, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said Monday.

Burke responded to the accident at 11:19 p.m.

Walker was driving a 2003 Toyota Tacoma truck at the time of the crash.
