HEBRON — Gear up for a weekend of classic hot rods, food and music at the 41st annual Rod Run, presented by Downeast Street Rods, on Friday, Aug. 16, and Saturday, Aug. 17, at Hebron Pines Campground, Route 124.

This is a family-friendly event that features street rods, rat rods and custom cars, all from the pre-1972 era. Friday evening will feature a performance by the local band Skosh.

Saturday’s activities include a swap meet area, a tailgate band and many activities for children. Saturday night features a free potluck dinner and pig roast.

The event will also include a raffle for two beautiful custom-made benches created from old truck tailgates. All proceeds from the raffle will go to local charities.

Downeast Street Rods was formed in 1972 and currently has more than 50 members. The Rod Run is their hallmark event and draws spectators from all over New England. “If past Rod Runs are any indication we will have over 200 street rods, rat rods and customs in attendance — it’s a truly outstanding visual event!” says Dick Lindkvist, a representative of Downeast Street Rods.
