1949 – 2013
LEWISTON — Shirley M. Howe, 64, of Sabattus, passed away Monday, Aug. 5, at Central Maine Medical Center with her close family by her side.
She was born in Fort Kent on July 11, 1949, the daughter of Joseph and Jeannette (Albert) Godin.
She married the love of her life, Donald E. Howe, on April 14, 1978, and together they made their home in Sabattus, which they both truly enjoyed together with their dog, Lassie. Donald passed away in 2011.
Shirley enjoyed making quilts, sewing and playing cards with family, especially with her son, Michael, who was always smiling and lifting her spirits when they were at her lowest. She also loved playing bingo with her sister, Joan. She adored her favorite companion, her dog, Kelly, who gave her a reason to continue on.
She leaves her son, Michael Cote and wife, Ella, of Turner; her grandchildren, Matthew, Marcy, Kayleigh and Liana; her great-grandchildren, Kameo and Khya; her stepchildren, David Howe and Penny of Freeport, Nicole Slaven and Arlas of Indiana, Larry Howe of South Portland and John Howe and Kelly of Brownville; her sisters, Anita Boulay and Burt of Auburn, Joan Warner and Bob of Sabattus, Janice Arsenault of Lewiston, Pat Godin of Auburn and Peggy Dumond of Lewiston; her brother, Billy Godin and Rita of Auburn.
She was predeceased by her mother; a sister, Janet Cloutier; and brother, Leo Paul Godin, and she will see them again.
