1953 – 2013

AUBURN — Alden R. Prada, 59, of South Paris was called home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

He was born in Oak Bluffs, Mass., on Aug. 17, 1953, the son of Raymond and Alita Moriarity Prada. He graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1972 and attended the Wentworth Institute of Technology. In 1974, he graduated from the building trades program at Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute (known now as Central Maine Community College).

He married Kristine Dugans in 1974.

Alden had been employed in the building construction trade and as a substitute bus driver. He taught driver’s education and also worked at Swan Supply. Most recently, he was employed by the Town of Paris Highway Department.

He was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Norway, Everett W. Benson Council 5515, Knights of Columbus and the Andy Valley 4th Degree Knights 2173.

Alden enjoyed fine woodworking and volunteered his time with the building program at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, where he was a member of the Craft Committee. He loved his family and his pets.

He is survived by his wife, Kristine Dugans, of South Paris; his parents, Raymond and Alita Moriarity Prada, of Bethel; a son, Darin Reed and his wife, Sandra, of Huger, S.C.; a daughter, Jessica Prada Dunn and her husband, James, of Hebron; four grandchildren, Christopher and Noel Reed and Kaitlyn and Aden Dunn.

He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald T. Prada.
