Kora Shrine has announced the details for the second annual Kora Kare for Kids Ride-In. All net proceeds will benefit Shriners Hospital for Children. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, with planned motorcycle rides, an ATV run, car club runs, a lobster bake and fireworks to end the day.

The day will start with breakfast and registration for motorcycle and car runs from 8:30-10 a.m. at LA Harley, Main St., Lewiston. ATV rides will leave from Twitchell’s Airport, Rte. 4, Turner.

An end-of-run drawing will be held for prizes. The more stops the rider makes along the run, the more chances he/she will have to win. Additional tickets will be awarded for certain ride stops.

All runs will end at Twitchell’s Airport. Activities at the field will include live bands, games, merchandise and food vendors, and a lobster bake.

Day camping is also available at no charge. Admission to the field is free but advance purchase of tickets is required for the lobster bake. See korashriners.org for purchase of tickets or contact a Shriner.

Donations are encouraged for Shriners Hospital for Children.

Sponsored by the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, Alley Cats of LA is a public group open to all individuals who know of or are concerned about feral cats in need of assistance in our community. Special emphasis is placed upon a coordinated Trap-Neuter-Release Program, aimed at reducing the feral cat populations.

The goal of the TNR Program is to improve the quality of life for homeless cats, while reducing their numbers by attrition. After the cats are sterilized and vaccinated, kind-hearted volunteer caretakers continue to feed the population, but the cats are no longer able to reproduce. In addition to saving lives, nuisance behaviors and citizen complaints will be reduced or eliminated and costs to municipalities decrease.

The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society is at 55 Strawberry Avenue, Lewiston. For more information, call 207-783-2311 or visit www.gahumane.org. You can also follow them on www.facebook/GAHumane.
