Jay society reschedules open house to Aug. 31
JAY — The Jay Historical Society has changed the date of its scheduled open house date from Aug. 10 to Saturday, Aug. 31. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Although many hours have been spent reorganizing the large amount of materials damaged in April when a car that careened into the north end of the building housing the archives, and the contractor has repaired the structural damages, more work must be done to purchase new racks, tables, desk and chairs to finish the organization.
On Aug. 31, the society will host a lawn sale, sale of baked goods, light refreshments and raffle tickets. Craft tables are welcome at $5.
Lawn sale items and helpers to get set up are still needed. Call Dot White at 897-4876.
