Eco-Home Tour of area houses

BETHEL — An innovative Eco-Home Tour of Bethel, Newry and Shelburne area homes will be held Sunday, Aug. 4, sponsored by the Mahoosuc Land Trust.

The tour route begins at the Land Trust office, 18 Mayville Road, Bethel, where tickets go on sale at 12:30 p.m. Tour homes will be open until 5:30 p.m. and include area homes whose owners have taken advantage of many varieties of alternative energy sources for space heating, lighting and domestic hot water heating.

Homeowners and energy experts will be on site to demonstrate uses of wind, solar, hydro and biomass as alternatives. The cost is $15 per adult and $5 for students.

Rumford Senior Center luncheon

RUMFORD — Rumford Senior Center will have a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5.

Menu consist of baked beans and red hot dogs. There will be casserole for those who don’t care for beans. Beverage and dessert included.

Cost is $4.50. Call the center to sign up, 364-4700.

PERU — The Peru Historical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Historical Society Building.

ATV Ride for Hope Association

ROXBURY — The annual ATV Ride for Hope Association sponsored by the Roxbury ATV Riders will be held Saturday, Aug. 10. Riders will meet at 1162 Roxbury Notch Road, Roxbury, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Lunch will be served. Raffle tickets for cash prizes of $50, $100 and $200 are available at Hope Association at a cost of one ticket for $1 or six for $5.
