FARMINGTON — A Franklin County justice sentenced a Jay man Friday to serve 18 months of a six-year sentence and three years of probation for selling oxycodone.

Frank J. Williams, 48, of Jay pleaded guilty in June to felony charges of unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs and illegal possession of a firearm. He also admitted to the criminal forfeiture of property.

Justice Michaela Murphy also sentenced him to serve 18 months on the handgun charge to be served at the same time he is serving the drug sentence. He also has to pay a $400 fine on the drug conviction and forfeits about $2,000 in cash found in a safe at his residence near a piece of paper with names and figures on it. The handgun was also found there.

Jay police stopped Williams on Aug. 2, 2012, in Jay because they saw he was driving and knew he did not have a driver’s license. They searched the vehicle and found 68 oxycodone pills in a hidden container, Assistant Attorney General David Fisher said in June.

When police searched Williams’ residence, they found 52 more oxycodone pills, Fisher said.
