The Wilton community is revving up for its 31st annual Blueberry Festival which begins on Friday, August 2, and continues on Saturday, August 3, offering an action-packed weekend of events and activities for all ages.

On Friday, from 10 a.m.-noon enjoy Sammie Angel, from 2-4 p.m. Nancy & Bing Crosby in at the Civil War Memorial Square downtown, from 4:30-6 p.m. enjoy Tux Burke at Wilton Congregational Church and at 7:15 p.m. listen to the award-winning musical talent of Mama’s Wranglers in the Academy Hill School gymnasium, 585 Depot Street, Wilton.

On Saturday the Moose Creek Cloggers will perform at 12:30 p.m. at the Academy Hill School cafeteria and country artists Sammie Angel and Jim Harris appear from 3-7 p.m. at the downtown square.

Boat rides are being offered by Friends of Wilson Lake from 1-4 p.m. Friday from the boat launch. Six pontoon boats will provide the tours. Life vests will be provided. Children must be accompanied by a parent. No pets are allowed. Although there is no charge for the rides, donations to FOWL will be accepted.

The annual one-mile, 5K and 10K Bill Yates Memorial Race is Friday, August 2.  Register at Kineowatha Park area at 4:30 p.m. Races begin at 6 p.m. Registration online forms are at www.wiltonbbf.com/Events.html.

There is so much to do and see:

Juried art show in the Bass-Wilson building from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; blueberry bazaar and homemade pie sale at the First Congregational Church on Main Street from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; Wilton Farm and Home Museum and Open Forge Day by Western Maine Blacksmith Association; Wilton Fish & Game Association open house featuring four events: trap, archery, gatling gun and shooting gallery with cash prizes and free workshop on basic archery from 9 a.m.-noon with equipment provided. Visit crafters and vendors at Academy Hill School parking area, Main Street garage and throughout downtown Wilton.

Great food can be found all around town:

Lobster roll lunches at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, BBQ chicken at First Congregational Church on Friday. Start your Saturday from 6-10 a.m. with blueberry pancakes by the Wilton Lion’s Club and finish the day with a pig roast dinner from 4:30-6:30 p.m. under the tent downtown.
