RUMFORD — The Greater Rumford Community Center will have a car wash starting at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 21, at the Rumford information booth. For more information or to volunteer call the GRCC at 369-9906.
Events listed for annual Peace Fair
BRUNSWICK — The ninth annual Peace Fair will be held on the Brunswick Green from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3.
The theme of this years fair, “Children Ask the World of Us,” has led organizers to invent fun and engaging activities for learning how to build a world in which all children can thrive.
There will be music by Inanna, Jud Caswell, Broadband and Tyson Weems; children’s play with Jamie Silvestri and her Art Van; a poetry-writing workshop with Gary Lawless and Terry Grasse; ox cart rides with Working Villages International.
A collaboration by Maine educator Zoe Weil and Maine artist Robert Shetterly on educating young people to be “Active Citizens” and “Solutionaries” will round out the day.
Hydrocephalus fundraiser
SACO — A fundraiser to support Hydro Angels Over America, a nonprofit that works to improve the lives of the more than 1 million Americans living with hydrocephalus, will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 7, at Vacation Land Bowling Center, 812 Portland Road.
The price of $100 per team or $25 per bowler includes breakfast assortments, pizza, soda, two hours of bowling, shoes and raffles.
The event is being hosted by Nathan Cloutier, age 16, who was born with hydrocephalus.
