LEWISTON — A local man suffered head injuries Friday morning when he crashed his bicycle into a car on Ash Street.

Police said Richard Michael Leet, 53, of Lewiston, was rounding a corner at Ash and Blake streets at about 9:45 a.m., when he lost control of his bike and crashed into a Toyota Camry. Leet’s head hit a window, police said. When emergency crews arrived, he was conscious but bleeding from the head and face.

Leet was taken to Central Maine Medical Center where he was treated and released. Police were continuing to investigate the crash.

The driver of the Camry, 21-year-old Patrick Merritt, of Lewiston, was not hurt.
