At a special event at the Maine Credit Union League, Sister Christine Plouffe of Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry in Sabattus accepts a loaf of bread and a check for $500 from Jon Paradise, AVP of Governmental and Public Affairs for the Maine Credit Union League on behalf of the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. Two food pantries in every Maine county received similar contributions as the campaign distributed some of the record-setting $471,000 raised in 2012 at this event. Other food pantries to receive donations in the tri-county area were: Tri-Town EM-UMC Food Cupboard in Livermore Falls, Care & Share Food Cupboard in Farmington, UM Economic Ministries in Salem, Woodstock Food Pantry and Servant’s Heart Food Pantry in Peru. Good Shepherd Food-Bank also received a total of $1,000 during the day.
