RUMFORD — Following a 60-minute public hearing at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 18, on the proposed new municipal budget, selectmen will convene their regular meeting in Rumford Falls Auditorium.
Among the agenda items are requests to accept a revision to the General Assistance ordinance and to OK the warrant and notice of the RSU 10 budget referendum. There are also requests from the police chief to approve a parade permit for a 5K race by Friends of Black Mountain, and from the town clerk to eliminate nighttime office hours.
The board will also make appointments to boards and committees, appoint the town attorney, and deputy wardens and warden for the July 30 RSU 10 budget referendum.
At the board’s July 3 meeting, selectmen appointed:
• Duane Phelps to the Med-Care Ambulance board.
• Richard White to the Parks and Recreation Commission.
• Gary Casey and Kevin Saisi to the Planning Board.
• Leonard McKenna to the Rumford-Mexico Sewerage board.
• Fredric Kennard to the Rumford Water District.
Selectmen tabled the Board of Appeals appointment and noted that Selectman Frank DiConzo can no longer serve on it.
An executive session for a personnel matter with the town manager that was canceled at the board’s July 3 meeting is also on Thursday night’s agenda.
