LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women, a day drop in center for women in Lewiston, will host a visit from the “Toothfairy” on Thursday, July 18. Cindy Leavitt will be at the center all day with her traveling dental hygiene program.
Sign up for a spot at the center (or take your chances) to get your teeth checked and cleaned for free. Leavitt, whose program Healthy Smiles for ME works to reduce dental disease in children, visits schools during the academic year. In summers she works with various nonprofits to provide basic dental care for all ages.
Leavitt will return to the center in August. For more information visit www.healthysmiles4me.org.
The monthly women’s Full Moon Singing Circle will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, July 22. Come sing to sooth your soul and nurture your spirit. No experience needed, you do not even need to read music. Hot tea will be provided. Bring a munchie to share if you can.
During the summer the center is closed on Fridays. The schedule for all events including regular support groups and classes like painting, writing, poetry, crafts is posted on the center’s website, www.wisdomswomen.org.
All women are welcome and no appointments are needed. Programs are offered free of charge. The center stocks personal hygiene items to give away. Oatmeal breakfasts are available daily and the center has a shower available for use.
