Roger and Lucille
Fortin
LEWISTON — Roger and Lucille Fortin celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 7. The day began with a limousine ride with their children and grandchildren. The family took a ride around memory lane, with the couple being able to see and talk about where they were born, where they met, where they married and Kresge’s and Bates Mill, where they both spent most of their working years.
After the drive, the family went to DaVinci’s for an anniversary dinner. The memories continued as the dinner was set in Mr. Fortin’s old office at the Bates Mill. The family enjoyed hearing all about how the mill had been run. The day finished with a 60th anniversary cake, made by their daughter, Terry.
The couple was married at St Peter’s Church on April 11, 1953. Their children are Gerry and Diane Fortin of Raymond and Paul and Terry Fouquette of New Gloucester. Their grandchildren are Matt and Chikae Yamatin, Daniel and Angie Fouquette and Renee Fortin.
