1936 – 2013
FARMINGTON — Myrtle H. Haney, 77, of Farmington, passed away Thursday, July 11, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.
She was born in Elliot in 1936, the daughter of John and Helen Hoyt. She was educated in Elliot through her freshman year of high school before moving to Temple and graduating from Farmington High School in 1954.
Myrtle married her high school sweetheart, Donald Haney, in December 1954. They raised their family in Farmington, where she worked in various shops and factories before retiring from Seniors Plus.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing dolls and toys for family and friends. Myrtle was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday school as a young lady. Above all else, her favorite thing was spending time with her grandchildren.
Myrtly is survived by her three daughters, Cynthia Noonan and her husband, Blaine, of Boothbay Harbor, Donna Galouch and her husband, Earl, of Farmington, and Karen Parker of Manchester, N.H.; six grandchildren, Tristan and Kristofer Noonan, Jonathan and Jennifer Galouch, Isreal Luce and Timothy Parker; a great-grandchild, Hunter Mathew; two sisters, Marjorie Savage and Eva Say; three brothers, Walter, William and Jack Hoyt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald; three sisters, Louise Nicholas, Hazel Barker and Lila Kane; and a brother, Dana Hoyt.
