1943 – 2013
PORTLAND — Delphine “Sandra” Martin, 69, of Franklin Street, Rumford, died Thursday, July 11, at the Maine Medical Center, Portland.
She was born in Rumford on Sept. 4, 1943, the daughter of Rene and Delphine (Lindau) Perry, and graduated from Mexico High School, Class of 1962.
Sandra worked at LaVerdiere’s Drug Store in Rumford and Mexico for many years.
She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius – St. John Church and formerly of St. Theresa’s Church, as well as a member of the Lithuanian Heritage Club, St. Timothy Circle 504 and Daughters of Isabella. She was also a volunteer at local elementary schools, her church and at the Rumford Hospital.
Survivors include sons, David Martin Jr. and wife, Libby, of Peru, and Robert Martin and wife, Mary, of Peru; brothers, Richard Perry and wife, Linda, of Portland, William Perry and wife, Geraldine, of Kennebunk, Gene Perry and wife, Marguerite, of Alna; grandchildren, Tanya Martin of Rumford and Kaiya, Baylee, Keenan, Jean-Luc and Preston Martin of Peru; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Rene and Delphine (Lindau) Perry; her son, Louis Martin, II; and her companion, John Cox.
